"Alfred (A) went on a holiday to Maldives. Whilst on holiday at a beach resort, he hired a deck chair for use on the beach. A paid a fee in return for which he received a ticket. There were conditions printed on the back of the ticket one of which was a clause stating: "The owners of the resort will not be liable for any accident or damage arising from the hire of the chair". When A sat on the chair, it collapsed causing serious injuries to his spine. He was hospitalized for several days and after treatment, now walks with a permanent limp. Advise the resort owners whether they could be held liable for the injuries suffered by A."
