The certificate can only be used to buy water, though. Knowing the price of a bottle of water is $1.30 and the price of a loaf of bread is $2.50, compute the X-intercept of Jackie's budget line.

2) Joe's bookstore offers a deal: if you buy at least one book (X), you get one free book. It is a one-time deal, that is, at most one free book per person. Anna has $30 to spend on books and other goods (Y). The price of a book is $6 and the price of a unity of other goods is $1. Taking into consideration Joe's deal, compute the X-intercept of Anna's budget line.

3) Lucas has $100 to spend on scarves (X) and hats (Y). Each scarf costs $7 and each hat costs $11, but the shop offers a promotion: if Lucas buys two or more scarves, he gets one scarf for free. If he buys 4.8 hats, how many scarves does Lucas consume? (Note: he consumes what he pays for plus whatever he gets for free.)

4) Olivia's father gave her a gift certificate for her birthday. The certificate is worth $12 but can be used only to buy toothbrushes (X). The price of a toothbrush is $5, the price of all other goods (Y) is $1. Olivia's budget (not taking the gift in consideration) is $39. How much of Y can Olivia buy, if she buys 10 toothbrushes?

5) Peter has $68 dollars to spend on watches (X) and ice-cream (Y, measured in oz.). If he buys at least 2.5 watches, he gets a free watch. P_X= 15 and P_Y= 5. How many oz. of ice-cream can Peter buy if he consumes 5 watches? (Note: he consumes what he pays for plus whatever he gets for free.)
