All quarter long you have been studying a particular company. This reflective essay should be three to five pages, cited and referenced appropriately. It has three parts and a conclusion.
First, go back and review what you have written about the company you have studied this quarter. Pick three topics that were unfamiliar or challenging for you to analyze. For each one, explain why that topic was initially challenging. Then discuss how you would change your analysis of that topic and the researchyou would now use to support your analysis, based on what you have learned this quarter. How has this changed over the quarter? This section should have an introduction and a paragraph for each of those topics. This section should demonstrate how your understanding of managerial finance has changed as a result of your research activities and discussions.
Second, go back and review what you have written about the company particularly in your discussion posts. Looking at projects you analyzed for the company, and having read the brief selections from Chapters 8 and 10 on Option Pricing and Real Options, how might you change your analysis of those projects, in light of real options for investment timing, growth, abandonment, and flexibility? You do not need to re-analyze the projects for this paper. Simply discuss how you might change your analysis of those projects, if you were toincorporate real options concepts into that analysis. This section should demonstrate your ability to incorporate new financial management concepts into your existing financial management knowledge. It should be a few paragraphs and should include some evidence from your company research to support your argument.
Finally, discuss briefly the three most important research sources you used and explain why they were important to your understanding of the company you studied.
Finish up with an overarching conclusion paragraph about the company and the three most important things you consider an investor should know about them.
