All students must write an essay based on one of the following topics covered in the course: 1) Critically evaluate the evolution and role of HR as a business function and its importance within an organisation. 2) Discuss the relationship between HR and line managers and critically consider the term "delegating down the line" in terms of the strategic role of HR. 3) Critically explore the external environment and its influence on HR practice
