Instructions Each student is required to complete an assignment that demonstrates effective communication skills. It doesn't matter how much someone knows if they are unable to communicate it effectively, This assignment should demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate ideas about management accounting and management decision support in a professional manner and tone. Research cited in the paper should be conducted using the TAMUK online library as the exclusive source of all formal research referenced. This does not preclude the student attaining information about a company from the company website Internet or other reliable sources such as legitimate business and news publications. However, open source papers (those posted on the Internet) and articles should not be used, as they are not generally accepted as legitimate. All sources should be referenced. Students should be particularly careful of news sources and avoid editorial pieces that are presentented as opinion rather than the reporting of facts. Effective communication includes appropriate writing style, organization, grammar, and spelling, as well as the ability to integrate course-related material and research. The paper should link concepts studied in the course to realworld organizations and the environments in which they operate. Research competency is evidenced by the student's ability to select an appropriate topic, appropriate references and resources, and the ability to use sources in an ethical way to support positions taken in the paper. The body of the paper should be 2-3 double-spaced pages excluding title page, tables, illustrations, and bibliography. References should follow APA style. It is not necessary to include a title page, table of contents, index or other accoutrements one would expect in a longer paper. I do not stipulate a minimum number of sources, but this paper is not an essay. It should not be your opinion. It should be based on facts for which you have a indipendently verifiable, legitimate source. Neither should it be based wholly or principly on one source. It should bring together evidence from multiple sources. Keep in mind that this is a writing exercise and will be graded as such. You have all taken writing classes, just like you have all taken basic math classes. If you don't remember how to write a paper, you should review those basic skills upon which this class depends. It is outside the scope of this class to teach you to write a paper, just like it is outside the scope of this class to teach you basic math. If you should wish to edit your submitted paper or if you discover, before the paper is due,that you have submitted the wrong file, you may resubmit the file twice up to the time it is due.
