All these are requirements for a taxpayer to file as head of household EXCEPT.

A Be unmarried or "considered unmarried" on the last day of the tax year

B Maintain a household for a qualifyne child or qualifying relative

C Pay the medical costs, clothing and educational expenses for themselves and any qualifying children or relatives

D Pay more than half the expenses of maintaining the household for the entire year.
