Ammonia (NH3) is formed from N2 and H2 in a continuous, steady-state process. The fresh feed (n1 mol /s) is a 90C and 2atm has a flow rate of 224L (STP)/s and contains 25.0mol% N2 and the balance H2. This stream is joined by a recycle stream (n3mol/s), which contains 25%N2,74%H2, and 1.0%NH3. The combined streams flow to the reactor. The combined stream has a total flow rate (n4 mol/s). The reactor product stream, which contains all three species ( n5N,n5H,n5Amol/s) passes to a separation unit in which 95.2% of the ammonia (fed to the unit) is transferred to a liquid phase and sent out as the pure ammonia product (n n2 mol/s ). The gas stream leaving the separation unit is the previously mentioned recycle stream. N2+3H22NH3 a. Write an expression for the overall conversion of nitrogen. b. Preform a DOF analysis around the entire process using atomic balances. c. Calculate the production rate of ammonia ( n2mol/s)
