An analysis of the service and operational efficiency of a private hospital in Bandar Sunway. Your team has been called in to analyse the data to provide information that would assist the Hospital administrator to make decisions to provide better service and and experience for patients.
Your team is required to prepare a report and present to the Hospital Board at a date and time which would be made available by the hospital administrator. You have been given the report below plus an excel file containing the data that was collected.
INTRODUCTION
Attached is the data collected from patients who sought medical treatment in a private hospital. The hospital administrator in order to improve the service provided to patients as well as operational efficiency, conducted a survey. He gave questioners to 80 randomly selected patients. The data collected was organised in an excel file that is provided with this assignment.
The hospital administrator is interested on how patients feel about the service provided by the hospital. This is measured by the satisfaction score of 0 to 100 where 100 implies excellent service.
Some background information such as age, education level gender, marital status and race was also obtained.
The administrator was also concerned about the parking facilities provided. There was plans to expand the hospital and hence parking constraints. Therefore, the hospital was also interested in the transportation used to arrive at the hospital. This would help to justify additional expense to expand current parking facilities.
Another issue of concern was the waiting time. Patients complained about the long waiting times. Data was collected on the waiting times to see the Nurse, GP or the specialist. In the opinion of the Hospital Administrator the waiting time to see the nurse should not be more than 15 minutes, whereas to see the doctor should be about 30 minutes. The average time to see the specialist was about an hour.(Hypotheses testing should be done to determine if operational efficiency meets the expectations of the administrator.
The administrator is also interested to know whether gender, educational level, marital status and race influences the outcome of your study.( A TWO sample hypotheses test can be done )

Instruction = recode the variable EDU, GENDER, ARRIVE, MARRIED, RACE, STAFFTYPE.
For example:
ARRIVE: BUS = 1, CAR =2, WALK = 3. This can be done in EXCEL before exporting the file to SAS.
Alternatively it can be done in SAS.

Deviation,frequency distribution tables and so on.
- Number dont really give a clear picture of the current situation. Can you support
them with graphical models? (10%)
- Analysis of the graphical and summary statistics. Your analysis apart from the
basics should include comparisons between gender, between medical staff

3. Inferential Statistics(30%)
Assume the data is normally distributed.
a).Using a one mean hypothesis test. You can perform multiple one mean test which are relevant to the hospital.
