An autism researcher conducted a study looking at the exposure of pregnant women to 48 different chemicals and subsuquent diagnosis of autism among their children. For each of the 48 chemicals, the researcher conducted a seperate and subsequent child autism diagnosis. Polychlorinated Biphenyl(PCB) showed significant assocation between exposed and non-exposed at the 5% significance level.

This study provides strong evidence of an association between exposure to PCB during gestation and likelihood of a subsequent autism diagnoses during childhood.
