Here is a sample format

Academic Language: 1) List of address content specific vocabulary (challenging new words) or terminology that will presented in this lesson. 2) Address the pedagogical language (teacher language) used in the lesson. 3) Address the language demands of the lesson (writing, reading, speaking, listening)

Materials: List all supplies and materials needed for the lesson. Include a copy of each handout used in connection with the lesson.

Introduction: State how you will introduce the lesson. Give a detailed explanation of how you will: 1. Gain students attention and stimulate their interest for the lesson 2. Establish procedures (tell the students what you expect) 3. Inform students of the learning outcomes / objectives

Procedure: Give a detailed, step-by-step description of the process of teaching the lesson. The procedures should be detailed enough for another teacher, such as a substitute, to read and to be able to teach the lesson without any verbal explanation from you. Focus on how concepts in both art and the content area are taught, learned and practiced in this lesson. Showing students an example of a completed project is not teaching. Teaching procedures should include instructional- strategies; examples: cooperative learning, constructivism, inquiry based learning, problem based learning, simulation, role playing, discussion, etc. Include in your lesson plan: * questions you will ask * examples/models you will use * checks for understanding * how you will provide feedback * how you will use materials in teaching

Accommodations and Differentiation: Explain how you will modify your instruction, provide different resources, and assess differently so that your instruction is accessible to all learners in the classroom. Accommodations for lower achieving students and/or special needs students (additional support, different materials, etc) Differentiation for higher achieving students - how will you challenge them in this lesson?

Assessment/Evaluation: How will student learning be assessed in this lesson? Align your evaluation with the objectives of the lesson. Closure: How will you wrap up the lesson? Some good ideas for closure: Review key ideas and reinforce student successes Discuss connections between the art elements of the lesson and the content area elements Have students share what they learned / what was easy / what was more challenging As a class, discuss how to display the products
