The individual will present in 10 and will be aiming to compel the CEO to give them the money they are asking for. Project Example: Hi, Im Andrew, the VP of HR Today Im here to ask for a total of $x dollars for funding in HR technology, in order to drive our 2023 priorities In reviewing 2023 data, weve identified our focus areas for 2024. Our three top HR priorities for the year will be A, B, C. Priority A: o Why its important we address this? o What technology Im asking for? and how it will help? o How much it will cost? o The bottom-line benefit to the organization (savings/new revenue amount-cost of HR tech= benefit to the company) Repeat for priority 2 & 3 Now, you may be wondering how we would manage all of this change next year so that it wouldnt be a complete disaster. Rest assured, if you give us this funding we will make sure we manage this well! Heres how: o Project management tool or approach #1 What it is and why it will help? o Repeat for project management tool or approach #2 So in summary, Im asking for $x, it will save/create new revenue for the company of $x, and my strong close to compel you to give me the money!

Instructions:
1)Using the 2023 data given, identify which three is best for the individual to choose and are going to try and improve. These become your 2024 HR Priorities.
2). For each of your three 2024 priorities, do the following: a. Explain what the HR technology the individual is going to implement is, and how the HR technology will help address the opportunity i. Im more interested in the kind of technology, not a specific vendor e.g., I need funding to implement an Employee Portal, because ABCD. Not, I need money to buy the Acme Portal Cos product because their website says it will do x, y, z. The individual can reference specific/actual vendors if they choose, but looking for the individuals general knowledge of the technologies and how they will solve their 2024 priorities. b. Explain how much the HR technology will cost i. the individual WILL MAKE THIS NUMBER UP ii. THIS MADE UP NUMBER SHOULD ALWAYS BE LESS THAN THE AMOUNT the individual WILL SAVE THE ORGANIZATION i.e., make up the number in a way that supports your business case Example: this issue is currently costing us $1,000,000 a year...so yes, the technology is expensive at $500,000 a year, but its going to eliminate the $1M cost and in turn, save the company $500,000 a year c. Any additional thought or analysis that will help make the case! The individual wants to compel the CEO to give them this money, so its important for the individual to make an awesome business case. 3. We know that implementing new HR technologies comes with disruption and change to employees. Assuming the individual will get funding for all their requests, there will be a lot of change the individual will need to manage. In order to increase their chances of funding, they will want to convey to the CEO that they are thoughtful about how best to implement these tools make them confident they wont make bad use of the funding! a. Name two project management tools or approaches that can be used to help manage the implementation b. For each, explain how they work and why they will be beneficial to the oversight of the tech implementations 5. Recap the individuals ask, the benefit to the organization, and make the individuals final pitch to the CEO for the funding.
