An insurance claims adjuster investigates the scene of a hit-and-run car crash in which A car has rear-ended a 2300 kg truck that was stopped at a stoplight. Tire skid marks (from sliding) show that the car hit the brakes 5.6 meters before the point of collision. After the collision the truck slid 6.5 meters in a direction 35 degrees left of forward, and the car slid 9.2 meters in a direction 15 degrees right of forward. The coefficient of friction between the road and all the tires is (0.75, 0.53) a. Find the post-collision vehicle speed ( V) as a function of the length of its skid-marks (d), the coefficient of friction, and the gravitational field strength. Boz the formula, and also apply it to find the post-collision speed of each vehicle. b. Use momentum conservation to find the mass of the car. c. Find the initial speed of the car, just before it began to brake. (a) Speed of car / Speed of Truck (b) Mass of car (c) Initial speed of car
