An organization who has a remote access can continue their business work flows with little to no change. with planning remote access, you also need to keep in mind the infrastructure needed to maintain this part of the organization. One key part is considering using a virtual private network. With a virtual private network you can ensure your remote workers are sending and transmitting data on a secure connection back to home base. Staff should not be allowed to use personal devices, has the organization cannot control the device fully. With an organization providing the device you can full control and even prevent the user from installing specific software. With remote workers, you increase the traffic through your own servers coming in but lessen the traffic coming out. In order to negate this, you will need to provide a faster connection and run stress load test to ensure that the new stress load is not too much for your current capacity. With having remote workers you can increase productivity and allow users to continue working in emergency situations.
