DETERMINING MINIMUM CIRCUIT BREAKER AND CONDUCTOR SIZES All conductors are copper unless otherwise specified. All wiring shall be considered to be in a multi-conductor cable or in a raceway. All wire sizes are AWG or kcMil and rated for 75 deg C (unless otherwise stated) 1) The following load is fed with a #6 AWG copper conductor. Determine the maximum size circuit breaker permitted to protect this conductor. Use Table 13 for common Circuit Breaker sizes. Circuit Breaker 120V Maximum size of circuit breaker permitted- 2) The following load is fed with a #8 AWG aluminum conductor. Determine the maximum size circuit breaker permitted to protect this conductor. Use Table 13 for common Circuit Breaker sizes. Circuit Breaker 120V Maximum size of circuit breaker permitted - 3) The following load is rated protected by a 20A circuit breaker. Determine the minimum size conductor required to feed the load. Circuit Breaker 120V Minimum size of conductor - 4) The following load is rated protected by a 20A circuit breaker. Determine the minimum size conductor required to feed the load if the conductor was in a conduit with 30 other current carrying conductors. Circuit Breaker 120V Minimum size of conductor - 5) The following load is rated protected by a 40A circuit breaker. Determine the minimum size aluminum conductor required to feed the load. Circuit Breaker 120V Minimum size of aluminum conductor - 6) The following load is rated protected by a 60A circuit breaker. Determine the minimum size aluminum conductor required to feed the load if the conductor was in a conduit that has a total of 9 current carrying conductors in it. Circuit Breaker 120V Minimum size of aluminum conductor - 7) The following load is rated protected by a 125A circuit breaker. Determine the minimum size of 60 deg C rated conductor required to feed the load if the conductor was in a conduit that has a total of 3 current carrying conductors in it. Circuit Breaker 240V Minimum size of conductor - 8) The following load is rated protected by a 400 A circuit breaker. Determine the minimum size aluminum conductor required to feed the load if the conductor was in a conduit that has a total of 5 current carrying conductors in it. Circuit Breaker 240V Minimum size of aluminum conductor - 9) The following load is rated protected by a 50 A circuit breaker. Determine the minimum size aluminum conductor required to feed the load if the conductor was in a room with a constant ambient temperature of 43 deg C. Circuit Breaker 240V Minimum size of conductor- 10) The following load is rated protected by an 80 A circuit breaker. Determine the minimum size conductor required to feed the load if the conductor was in a conduit with 7 other current carrying conductors and in a room with a constant ambient temperature of 32 deg C. Circuit Breaker 240V Minimum size of conductor - And Also provide table.
