The following information was supplied by KL Suppliers for the only product that it sells:
Monthly demand 300 units
Unit cost R20
Fixed cost per order R25
Carrying cost per unit 10% of the unit cost

Calculate the net wage of J. Samuels for the third work week of May 2024.

INFORMATION
J. Samuels is employed by Drake Enterprises. The normal working week is 45 hours. J. Samuels
worked for 50 hours during the third work week of May 2024. He is remunerated at R120 per hour
during normal working hours. Overtime is calculated at 1(1)/(2) times the normal rate. The following are
his deductions for the week:
Unemployment insurance fund 1% of the gross wage
Pension fund 7.5% of the normal wage
Income tax R1000
Drake Enterprises contributes the same amount as the employees towards the unemployment
insurance fund and pension fund.
