ESSAY QUESTIONS INSTRUCTIONS: There are TWO (2) questions in this section. Students SHOULD answer BOTH of the following questions. Students should answer in well defined paragraphs, supported with appropriate examples drawing on their knowledge of Organizational Behaviour concepts gained in this course. Please ensure that you answer ALL parts (A and B). Question 1: Organizational Change/Organizational Structure (30 marks) a. Some Jamaican organizations struggle to successfully compete in today's rapidly changing environment. Briefly discuss how THREE (3) external triggers of change are propelling these affected organizations to become less mechanistic and more organic in terms of their organizational structure. (18 marks) b. Briefly explain the impact of working in a bureaucracy with high work specialization and centralization, in terms of employees' behavioural responses (12 marks) Question 2: Conflict (30 Marks) Relate an experience of a functional conflict that you encountered while doing your OB group project. Based on Stage One and Five of the Conflict Process, explain the cause of the conflict and its impact on the outcome of the project. (30 marks)
