Answer the following question in a short paragraph or two. Make your answer as complete and as clear as possible. You work as a manager for a large corporation that employees thousands of people in your division alone. Hiring and promotion has become a difficult task for management because of the sheer number of employees that come up for promotion. In order to try to streamline the process, your company has recently purchased some software to help sort through the data of who should be promoted. Individuals seeking promotion will complete an application package detailing their credentials and experience, and the algorithm will sort the applications, providing a long list of ten candidates for the promotions committee to review. This has really cut down on the work of promotions, for which you are really grateful. Now, instead of sifting through around a hundred applications, you and yourteam only have to look at ten or so. But, you have begun to notice a pattern. The applications you are given in each round of promotions all have names that are stereotypically western European and male in origin. Employees in your company who don't have names like this somehow never make it into the top ten. Using an intersectional lens, what sort of questions might you want to ask about the software you are using? And who might be being harmed by this software
