Answer the Following Turing Machine Problem:
We were discussing artificial intelligence, perhaps what we should be thinking about is artificial biology. In the broadest terms life has large over-arching themes. 1) Survival 2) Reproduction and in some sense 3) improvement of self in response to environmental pressures. Life, almost by definition, is the solution to these problems. The problem with software and machines is that we (as living beings) have to define in very specific terms what the goals are. Do you think that it is possible to generate a Universal Turing Machine that instead of a Turing Machine definition, it is challenged to find solutions to those three biological imperatives?
a. If not, why not?
b. If yes i. Are there other broad biological imperatives that I have not considered? ii. And what might the biological pressures be in this setting? iii. How might the solutions to the imperatives be generated (sought)?
c. Finally, is this an example of AI? Or is it something completely different? Justify your answer.
