Every day you see a vendor (Marc) selling the same umbrellas for $10/each outside a subway station. One day, there is very heavy rainfall and you have forgotten your own umbrella at home. As you leave the subway station, you rush over to Marc and ask him to buy an umbrella for $10. Marc replies that he is now selling his umbrellas for $200 each. You tell Marc that you know he always sells these same umbrellas for $10 each. You also explain to Marc that you desperately need the umbrella; you have a very important work meeting in a few minutes and you cannot show up all wet from the rain. Marc replies: \"I am sorry, but you must pay me $200 for the umbrella. Either pay me the $200 I am now asking for or move out of the way'. You are furious, but feel you have no choice but to pay the $200. Marc also knows that you are in a bad position since there is no one else selling umbrellas close by. You pay Marc $200 for the umbrella and get to work without getting wet. Later that afternoon, you replay in your mind everything that happened that morning and you strongly believe that Marc took advantage of your situation by charging you $200 for the umbrella.
