Her parents are married, her father is an accountant, and her mother is a teacher. Maze has two siblings; she has an older and a younger sister. They are two years apart. Maze was referred was hospitalized after she was found passed out in her room. She swallowed a bottle of pills to commit suicide. Maze reported that she was recently dumped by her boyfriend on social media and felt humiliated. She feared facing the school after what happened as students were making hurtful comments. Over all, Maze describes herself as being invisible in the eyes of her parents and others. She wished she wasn't born and often feels like the 'black sheep' of the family. She feels like she doesn't fit anywhere in the world. She compares herself to her siblings and in her eyes, she feels her siblings are perfect but she was a disappointment. Her siblings got excellent grades, they were good at co curricular activities and were sure about their future aspirations. However, she was merely average and had no idea what she was good at or what she wanted to do in the future. Her parents never failed to highlight her shortcomings but always emphasized the successes of her siblings. At school, Maze felt alienated her only friend was her boyfriend who was her childhood friend. Maze did not feel pretty compared to other girls her age and so when her boyfriend ended their relationship she was devasted.
