This is a TEAM building exercise using concepts learned from Chapter #6
EXPLANATION OF AA#1
For this activity (AA#1) your task is to assemble a team of 3 to 5 members to prepare to do a future Organizational Behaviour Project.
1. First you establish a team and create rules of behaviour. (See Chpt #6)
2. Next the team records the process (of making up a team and establishing the team's rules for behaviour).
3. Analyse the process (of making up a team and establishing the team's rules for behaviour) and submit your findings by following the rubric.
3. FOLLOW THE RUBRIC (POSTED AS A SEPARATE FILE).
You must use concepts from Chapter #6 (Groups and Teamwork).
In doing this, you are doing the first steps any team needs to go through as it prepares to work on an assignment.
You may make up your team from all students enrolled in BUS2040 in any section/cohort S1, S2, and S3.
**** If you are having trouble establishing a team or joining an existing team please let me know at once. Provide your contact details, including name, HID#, email and phone contact number.
I will then post an update to all sections asking for teammates.

Before you begin AA#1 it will help to first understand the directions for the second activity to be assigned in Week #10 (AA#2 will be due in Week #13) so you can establish roles and responsibilities within your new group now.

AA#2 Part A Create a PowerPoint Lesson Presentation to Teach the Class
Note: AA#2 will be assigned in Week #10
You and your teammates will prepare a lesson presentation for the class regarding an Organizational Behavior topic. Your team is required to choose one topic from the list of topics that will be assigned in Week #10 when I post AA#2. (NOTE: All topics require approval)

TO BUILD A TEAM
The development of a functional team for this exercise requires that it travels through Stages 1 through 3 of the 5 Stage Model. (Slide #16)
You cannot, at this time, go through stages #4 and #5 until you are asked to work on the next Application Activity (AA#2) Posted in Week #10.
Right now, the task is to assemble a team with certain team-like characteristics as described in Chapter #6 and prepare for the next stage by establishing group norms and assigning roles and responsibilities for each member.
THE ACTIVITY TASKS
Assemble a TEAM
Establish a framework including group norms, as well as roles and responsibilities of each member, to effectively prepare for AA#2
Create and submit a report by following the Marking Rubric.
You will gain clearer direction after reviewing Slides 19 to 29.
Follow the below directions #1 through #5.
1. Determine a defined purpose your team has for this assignment (mission and goals).
2. Establish and report the clearly defined roles and responsibilities for each member (Slides #10, 23, 28, 29).
Remember the team will have to do research and create a presentation in Application Assignment #2. In doing so each member will need to perform a role.
3. Create behavioural norms (slide #12-15) and agreed-upon ground rules for the team
4. Establish a decision-making model for the team.
5. Prepare a statement about the group process including a commitment to open communication, mutual accountability and appropriate self-evaluation. Additionally, discuss how the team will deal with Social Loafers?

I mark based on the Rubric. It shows the five key areas that I will grade. They are listed in the same order as the 5 areas (in green highlight listed above).
Please follow this order. Please use the five highlighted categories above as headings for each section.
Submit only one copy of the assignment per TEAM.
This is usually done by the Team Lead.
Make sure all members are identified (with their Section number) on the cover page. Otherwise, the missing member will not get marks.
The assignment must be typed double spaced in a 12-14-point font.
It must be at a minimum of 3 pages long, not including your Cover Page or Reference Page.
APA formating is expected. Include citations and references where appropriate.
