Application of the IMAGINESteps

to the following scenario:

Metropolitan State University has successfully developed the BSW program since 1997 with four Community Learning Centers for the junior field internship. These four CLCs are African American, Latino, Hmong, and American Indian.

There has been a demand to have an MSW program at Metropolitan State University since there is no public University with MSW program available in the Twin Cities, except the University of Minnesota, a land-grant University, which has annually received over 500 applications and only 150 to 180 are admitted. Over 350 applicants and many working adults with a BSW or other BA/BS degree have repeatedly contacted our Social Work department to establish an MSW program with more innovation such as innovative schedule and concentration to accommodate their needs. Additionally, many applicants cannot afford private colleges' MSW tuition. They want to come to our MSW program, should we have one that has four concentrations: (a). direct practice with families and children, (b). mental health services for community of color and immigrants / refugees, (c). case management services for elderly population, and (d). a clinical fast-track MSW program of two-years for the BSW and one-year-and six months for the internship.

To have an MSW degree program, we need to raise a seed funding of $ 500,000.00 from private donors/sources. Additionally, we need to hire four more faculty with Ph.D. or Doctorate degree and expand a learning center for the fast-track clinical field internship. Essentially, we need to have the support and approval from the University administration and Inter Faculty Organization (Faculty Union). The seed funding is to hire consultant(s) to prepare the accreditation in order to have a viable MSW program at Metropolitan State University.

Your task is to apply the IMAGINE process to strategize the development of this innovative MSW degree program at Metropolitan State University within the next three years.
