Applied Assignment 7B: Discussion Board 7- Mission statements

We have learned in Chapter 6 that both the mission and vision statement is included as part of the business plan. In Chapter 7 we learned that these also a major part of the strategic planning process. The mission statement is a brief explanation of why the company exists and helps to drive decisions made in the organization. The vision statement is a brief explanation of what the company aspires to be.

For this discussion board I would like for you to post a company name and their mission statement (along with a citation of where the information was obtained). Then to follow up, using the company you selected answer the following questions. Make sure you provide the Mission and Vision Statements of the company you selected:

1. Based on what you know about the organization and are able to find through research, do the organization's goals clearly support these statements? How?

2. Does the public image of the corporation align with the mission statement? Why or why not?

3. What is the vision statement of this company? Based on what you know about the organization, does it make sense? Why or why not?
