Applied Ethics

Read the text (https://ndpr.nd.edu/reviews/the-habermas-rawls-debate/) and discuss the proposed question defending either Rawls' or Habermas' perspectives.

Can a good thinker, or an assembly of good thinkers, tell what is the best for their community? How can a case such as the pipeline (https://www.reuters.com/article/us-tc-energy-pipeline-trudeau-idCAKBN2062A1) benefit from your view on the matter.

"I believe good thinkers or an assembly of good thinkers can tell what is best for their community. The decisions made depends on the needs and wants the community is asking for. The pipeline case symbolizes Habermas and Rawls. The Chiefs approach comes off as Rawls as they discuss the needs they want and need. Over the years and history of neglect the First Nations created a Habermas affect. The Chiefs action will benefit the community and the economy. I think combining both Habermas and Rawls approach would maximize the full benefits."
