Applying to scholarships and bursaries has three distinct stages:

Step 1: Find things to which a student could apply. (Minimum 4)

Step 2: create list of the awards, restrictions, requirements and deadlines. For our assignment, you're going to make a chart like this:

For the purposes of this assignment, please find at least one award to apply to for each month from May to September. You may, of course, add more to your chart.

Step 3: Draft generic set of responses that you can tailor to specific awards. Sections might include: Family and Background, Community Involvement, Volunteering, School Leadership, Financial Need, Special Circumstances, Hardships, Academic Achievements, Skills and Talents, Personal Goals. Note: Please write paragraphs minimum of 4, and suggested, specifically, Volunteering or School Leadership, Financial Need, Family and Background, and Special Circumstances or Hardships as being most useful.
