Are We Too Dependent on Our Smartphone? If you can name it? There is probably an app for it. While certainly useful, our smartphones are used for an ever-growing collection of tasks. But do we rely on them too much? Is being able to Goggle the answer to every question that arises a benefit of improved technology or it is decreasing our ability for independent thinking and problem solving? Is this amount of time children spend playing games on their phone and text messaging friends impacting their ability to interact with other face to face? Most children today can type rapidly on a smartphone keyboard and use the GPS feature on their phone to find destination they may wish to go but many schools are no longer teaching handwriting and some children have never seen a paper map, let alone used one will this put todays children at a disadvantage when they become adults? What tasks do you use mobile or smartphone phone for? Would you be able to perform those tasks without your phone? Are we becoming so dependent on our smartphones that will be unable to function without them? Why and why not?
