Don't worry if the answer is 'no' because I won't force you to use any of them... but chances are you are using one of them!

However, if the answer is 'yes' well you should be worried a bit.

In this assignment, we need to investigate the answers to some very simple questions.

First, I need you to identify any 2 commercial social media, messaging, or any file-sharing sites that are commonly used/popular that you are using. For instance, you can pick any two of: Facebook, twitter, Whatsapp, LinkedIn,

For each site you picked, answer the following questions:

a. What data does this site store about me?

You need to try to get the actual data file if possible that they have about you. On many sites, you can actually request this and it may take a few days to 'prepare' and you can retrieve it. e.g. You can download a copy of your Facebook data. For a given site that you select, search on how (if at all) they allow you to download your data file. Please do not submit your data file in this assignment (I seriously do not want your private data on Blackboard!) Simply submit the name of the site and the steps you used to download it and the file size in bytes of the data file you received from the site

For instance, I requested the data that Netflix stores about me... the file size that I received was 7.35 Megabytes!

b. Where is your data stored?

Can you identify the physical location, as many details as possible (country, province/state, city, address) as to where your data file is physically stored by the social media site you selected? Explain how you arrived at this conclusion and cite your sources or list your steps. [5 pts]

Try your best to identify the answers to the two questions (a) and (b) above for 2 social media sites to receive full marks.
