As a business person, there will often be a need to know how to read financial documents. The most informative summation documents are Balance Sheets, Income Statements and Cash Flow Statements.

Using Marketwatch.com or Yahoo Finance (finance.yahoo.com) research and compare; Apple vs Microsoft or Google vs Amazon.

Then answer the following questions using one tab/sheet/book in an Excel spreadsheet.

  1. As of today, which company's stock has more value per share? What is the share amount per stock per company?
  2. As of today, which company's stock has a higher increase over the last 30-days? Which company has had a decrease or larger decrease in stock prices over the last 30-days?
  3. Do either of these companies have new products coming out that will effect the next quarter's prices?
  4. Using the same Excel Spreadsheet add three more tabs. Download and then copy the most recently published Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statement for each company on a different tab in Excel. Label the tabs with the appropriate name. Submit your Excel Spreadsheet.
