As an advocacy social worker, I believe there will always be opportunities for growth,especially as I mature and adapt to new environments and challenges. Two of the NASW (2021)Code of Ethics' core values, integrity and competence, I believe, are at the forefront of mypractice. How can I truly advocate for and support vulnerable communities if I am unaware ofethical standards or lack the necessary knowledge? For example, I could select a different policyoption that would be more acceptable to elected officials (or other decision-makers in a positionof power).
