All families are unique and special; however, there are always one or two that stand out for you as unique and different - a family that you will never forget. What plans do you have for this family as you involve them in your program and optimally use their unique strengths and/or abilities?

Sometimes there is a fine line between establishing effective professional relationships with families in your program and developing friendships that carry over into your personal life. How do you deal with sensitive work-related issues with individuals you know and interact with personally and socially? Has this been a problem for you in your program?

How could you prevent a problem from occurring in this area - or do you even think it's a problem? Each person has a particular family whose behaviour is challenging for you. Identify a parent or guardian in your program with whom you have difficulty communicating effectively. Describe their behaviours and why they present you with challenges. What strategies are you working on to develop a better relationship with this family?
