As discussed in lectures, human health behavior is influenced by multiple "levels" of influence as described by the socioecological model. The level of the socioecological model includes local policies, like the new health zone around UAB here in Birmingham, state policies, like the Alabama legislature's preemption of Birmingham's minimum wage, and national policies like the Affordable Care Act, as well as global laws and policies, which conceivably influence health and health behaviors.
