As I begin my third practicum, I think back on the positive interactions I've had with children and families throughout the past second practicum. These experiences have given me an important foundation to build on as I try to become a more effective childcare worker. The skills I possess that have facilitated the development of meaningful and productive relationships with children and families include active listening, empathy, and effective communication I recognize the need to improve my skills in teaching in order to improve my capacity to establish better relationships throughout this practicum. This requires maintaining a well-planned and structured learning environment, maintaining specific behavioral norms, and effectively managing interactions between individuals in order to foster a positive learning atmosphere for all children In order to improve the quality of my relationships, I have decided to concentrate on my interactions with my parents. Creating an effective relationship in a child's growth requires trust and constant communication with parents. To promote a collaborative and positive connection, I will strongly create chances to engage with parents One particular example I would like to share is from my last practicum a family with an child who had serious developmental issues. This family differentiated out for their constant commitment to the childs growth in the face of many challenges. Perhaps it was giving them a hard time for there childs growth and development. This family and I had a unique relationship since it was based on mutual respect, empathy, and trust. However, childs complicated requirements which required special.I showed empathy and understood the family's experiences by actively listening to all of their concerns.
