As it said in the book Human Relations on page 182, mentoring is designed to help another individual grow and develop. I was lucky to have three supportive mentors who supported me throughout my internship period. My leader and my manager were the most supportive mentors. Both were coaching and counseling me by giving me advices to help me learn new skills. For example, my leader taught me ordering and receiving produce, and she shared challenging assignments to help me develop mor quickly. She used to tell me that she wanted me to grow in this company and be one of the leaders or managers sooner, so she gave me more tasks to do by learning every aspect in the kitchen. The manager supported me to improve my interpersonal skills. He was an attentive listener in certain times when I feel frustrated or my mood down, then he will advise me to take all my experiences during my internship as learning experience that will benefit me in the future positions.
