As noted in the first part of the case, establishing a questioning culture is essential for effective evidence-based management practice. Sally, Richard, and others have made several attempts to influence the culture at AMC, some more successful than others. For example, they tried to establish regular evidence-based management work shops, and they implemented an evidence-based quality improvement project to reduce patient falls on Richard's unit. What more could they do to influence the culture? what could they do specifically to encourage upper management to adopt a more evidence-based mind-set?
