As one of the world's leading producers of halal meat and poultry, South Africa is now pursuing efforts to expand the range of possible

food exports to the $57$ Muslim$-$majority countries as well as Islamic populations throughout various regions. The Arab South Africa

Chamber of Commerce launched the Halal South Africa project, which aims to provide incentives for food and beverage businesses in

the country to obtain halal certifications and begin exporting to the Muslim world. Although halal certification criteria seem complicated

and may require purchasing new equipment to comply with halal regulations, sometimes it just requires rearranging production lines.

South African manufacturers have recently entered international shows in the Muslim world, citing increased demand in products such as

tilapia and indigenous freshwater fish from Muslim importers. The development of the Halal industry is expected to promote the progress

of related industries and services, providing an opportunity for South Africa to attract Muslim investors and visitors. This, in turn, has the

potential to greatly contribute to the nation's growth while strengthening engagement with the $57$ countries that comprise the Organization

of Islamic Cooperation $($OI$).$
