As was reviewed in Module 6, we have a variety of different approaches and perspectives on normative ethics and their role in business and society. Most moral philosophers tend to favor one of the following prescriptive normative approaches: (1) consequentialison, (2) deontology, or (3) Virtue ethics. Moral psychologists and behavioral economists, by contrast, tend to favor a more descriptive (rather than prescriptive approach that focuses on the psychological foundation of moral sentiments Jonathan Haidt) or the real world nature of ethical decisions (Dan Ariely).
