Your responses to colleagues should be substantial (200-300 words) and supported with scholarly evidence from your research and/or the Learning Resources and properly cited in APA style. Personal anecdotes are acceptable within meaningful responses but cannot stand alone as a response. Responses should enrich the initial post by supporting and/or adding a fresh viewpoint and be constructive, enhancing the learning for all students.

According to Funder (2019), personality can impact health in biological ways, such as certain traits causing physical reactions that lead to negative health consequences, and behavioral, such as certain traits may make an individual more likely to develop behaviors that will negatively impact their health. I fully believe that personality can impact health and have seen my own personality impact my own health throughout my life, having both depression and anxiety. In week 2, I discussed my results from the Big Five Personality Test, and I scored high in neuroticism (Truity, 2023). Soto and John (2017) describe the facets of neuroticism and being anxiety, depression, and emotional volatility (Funder, 2019). Some ways that depression and anxiety has impacted my physical health are feeling constantly tired, headaches, and stomach problems.
I think it is very possible to help people become healthier when their personality is impacting their health. After starting therapy and medication, my mental and physical health has improved so much, and I don't deal with as many physical symptoms. I don't believe our personalities are set in stone, and I think if you want to grow and become better and improve your mental health that there are so many resources widely available to be able to do so. Healthy behaviors such as exercise and focusing on intervention for unhealthy behavior can also help individuals improve their health (Funder, 2019).
