Assessment 2: Business proposal report - Launch Hide Folder Information Instructions Length: 2000 words Weighting: 40% Due date: End of Week 3 (Sunday 11:59pm) Create a business proposal document Drawing on your learnings from the first three weeks of the unit, author a foundational business proposal using the template provided. To author your business proposal, you will use a variety of strategic management tools to identify your business' place in the market. Your business proposal must demonstrate how well you can explain, synthesise and then practically apply key strategic business concepts (including strategic competitiveness, vision and mission, competitive advantage, and the strategic management process). Use the attached Business strategy proposal template to prepare your proposal for submission. Assessment 2 comprises the following sections: 1. Outline your organisational purpose (max. 1-2 sentences): Articulate your organisation's purpose/vision. Draw on your solutions to the Week 1 ice-breaker activity (The power of purpose) to create your organisation's purpose/vision. 2. External environment - Analysis (approx. 600 words): Analyse the general environment - Which segments offer the greatest opportunity for your business idea? Which segments pose the greatest threats? Conduct an industry analysis (Porter's five forces analysis) - Determine the attractiveness of the industry. Conduct a competitor analysis - Who are your greatest competitors? What is their value proposition? 3. Internal organisation - Analysis (approx. 400 words): Core competencies - What core competencies will you focus on to distinguish your organisation from competitors and add unique value to your product/service? Justify. Value proposition - Which two elements of the value chain create the greatest value for your product/service? Justify. 4. Business-level strategy - Strategy formulation (approx. 400 words): Decide on and justify your business-level strategy based on your research, analyses and findings. In this section, provide the following: a) Who will be served? b) What needs do your target customers have that your business will satisfy? c) How will their needs be satisfied? Justify your choice of business-level strategy. What is your advantage against your competitors
