Most retail environments have done away with any backroom, and currently most follow Wal-Marts innovation of 50 years ago to increase the size of the store by getting rid of the "backroom" thus, currently goods go directly from the loading dock onto the floor of the store/ and most items arrive already on hangers either ready to be hung or similarly easy flow onto the retail floor. Retail continues to go through many changes, and has shifted from "personal touch" "one to one" that used to be present at our malls for example, to retail personnel being "available" or "present" in the environment, but essentially a "self service" environment. IDENTIFY, DISCUSS, ELABORATE and then APPLY to your own concept any key MEDIA influence from the online world that you can TRACE to the actual shelf at the store that did not exist a few months ago.
