You MUST diagnose a fault in a vehicle or machinery, in which the work MUST involve: o Using manufacturer specifications, workplace procedures and information obtained from the customer to develop a diagnostic testing strategy Using the diagnostic testing strategy to identify the cause of one [1] of the following faults: o Loss of vehicle power o Excessive fuel consumption o Excessive emissions o Poor handling o Poor hydraulic system performance o Poor pneumatic system performance o Incorrect mechanical system performance o Incorrect electrical system performance o Vibration o Abnormal noise You MUST record the diagnostic procedures followed with the above vehicles or machinery, the cause or causes of faults and the recommended repairs on the Job Card Your Trainer/Assessor has setup the vehicle with a vehicle fault. Your Trainer/Assessor will observe you against the performance observation criteria for carrying out diagnostic procedures
