ASSESSMENT ITEM 3 ASSESSING A UNIT OF WORK Task: Assessing a Unit of Work (40%) (2500 words} Description This assignment contains three components: Part A: Online Case Study Assessment Task (1000 words equivalent) Develop a five-week unit of work at Year 9/10 (Stage 5) level using Understanding by Design for one topic nfyaur choice that incorporates: CR5412 Curriculum Studies Geography: Part A 14 a. A teacher constructed online case study that allows students to demonstrate critical and creative thinking and supports students' wellbeing and safety (Graduate Stage: 2.6.1; 3.1.1; 3.4.1; 4.4.1; 4.51). b. One classroom-ready pre-lesson to introduce and instruct a diverse range of students in undertaking the study, plus one classroom-ready post-lesson that synthesises the case study, the concepts, skills and outcomes ofthe unit (Graduate Stage: 3.1.1; 3.4.1; 4.1.1:). c. A student-ready assessment task designed as assessment of learning that is suitable to be used for reporting to students and parents/carers, and kept as a record of an assessment piece for moderation across other Stage 5 classes (Graduate Stage 2.3.1; 5.5.1). Part B: 1500-word Justication Justify your professional choices using: a. Critically appraised theories/models and approaches to online learning and assessment that are designed to improve student learning and engagement. b. Current evidence-based research to accommodate strategies in online lesson and assessment design. c, Clear and appropriate integrated academic writing that presents referenced work professionally.
