Assessment Topic:

A Helping Hand is an Australian charity that helps people in Australia and overseas. Their work in Australia involves serving hot meals to the homeless, providing food packs to families in need and companionship to sick children and the elderly. Overseas, the charity employs a nurse to support the Naga Community in the Philippines and runs an Operational Therapy Centre to help children. The charity also runs a yearly mission where volunteers travel to various countries to deliver medical aid and support the vulnerable. The charity has identified the inefficient way in which it currently operates. This inefficiency means the charity is unable to easily maintain compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. WWC monitoring) nor easily fill available shifts and engage with current and prospective stakeholders. To solve the issue, the charity wants to develop a website that facilitates administration (i.e. Login Creations, Registration Requests and Password Resets), Donations and Purchases, Filing and Adding Rosters/Events, Groups and Communication, Knowledge Management and Reporting.

Task Details

You have been selected as the firm to deliver this project. Your role involves writing a report that demonstrates your understanding of the activities that comprise the Systems Development Lifecycle stages and how they interact.

Task 1

You must propose a list of requirements before developing the following: P a g e | 2 A project charter A project scope A budget A schedule (including the resources needed) A stakeholder management plan When covering the above points, you must discuss them in the relevant phase of the systems development life cycle. You must also demonstrate an understanding of PMBOKs ten knowledge areas.

Task 2

You are also expected to discuss the SDLC models and their benefits.

Important Notes

Please demonstrate knowledge of the quadruple constraints in a typical project (cost, schedule, scope and quality) and how they interact.

Please demonstrate the effective leadership role undertaken by the project manager and the effective communication across the team (e.g. meeting minutes, communication record).

The project must be completed within 5 months and under $600,000. The client expects to employ you on a fixed price contract hence you must research the market rates of required personnel to develop a reasonable budget.

The assessments length is 3500 words (+/-) 10% including references.
