Assignment 1: Accounting Codes of Conduct you will apply accounting codes of conduct and your own personal and professional code of ethics to determine what you would do to uncover a fraud scheme at a (fictitious) company that was cooking the books by keying in fake invoices into the accounting system to recognize revenue. Using the ethical framework you developed in the things you learned about in all of the weeks, where you apply the principles of your own professional code of conduct. Discuss the following issues at a minimum: How could the Ignatian values help you decide on the actions you would take if you came across information at work where you suspected the CEO and CFO were creating fake invoices, knowingly misrepresenting revenue earned? How might your understanding of the AICPA code of conduct help lead you to making the right ethical decision with respect to whistleblowing? Based on your Week 3 assignment where you developed your own personal and professional code of ethics, what would you now change in these codes of ethics that would further enhance your work? What advice would you give to a newly minted CPA regarding the importance of applying accounting codes of conduct? Determine whether whistleblowing is your best first option within the context of reporting an alleged financial statement fraud in your company. Why or why not?
