- Unfortunately, at your place of work, some sudden changes had to be made which required some radical steps to attempt to return the company to profitability or face closure. Management gave voluntary redundancy (resign or retire) packages to workers, which some took, but not enough. The company had to let more workers go. They also reduced workers' wages by 10% in order to try and offset losses that the company has been struggling with. With the voluntary redundancies the company lost many experienced people and the people still working had to do all of the work. The management team has not been trained adequately and there have been reports of conflict as they and their coworkers adjust to their new role. The company has also changed their contracts regarding overtime.
