Jim Barton has taken on quite a challenge in becoming the new CIO of IVK. Jim needs to create an action plan for asystem up-grade. Because he does not possess a strong technical background, he has a number of challenges ahead to become successful. Jim tries to get up to speed by visiting a bookstore. There he buys a pile of books on Information Technology and soon finds his head is swirling and he feels overwhelmed. Focus on an action plan for your company. In two to three pages, outline your action plan for assuming the position of CIO that needs to plan a system up-grade. Utilize information from your readings and research in your writing.

An Action Plan is a sequence of steps that must be taken, or activities that must be performed well, for a strategy to succeed. An action plan has three major elements (1) Specific tasks: what will be done and by whom. (2) Time horizon: when will it be done. (3) Resource allocation: what specific funds are available for specific activities. Note: If you do not work for a company, choose one from the internet.
