In the following situations, assume that the individual listed are the only survivors of the decedent. Determine who would inherit and to what percentage of the estate the heirs would be entitled.

1.Husband dies without a will. He is survived by a child from a former marriage, wife, a child who is the product of his marriage at the time of his death, and stepdaughter (child of wife) who is an adult and whom he has never met.

2.Husband dies and leaves entire estate to wife by will a will. Six month later, wife commits suicide. Surviving the wife are a stepchild (son of the predeceased husband) who has never known anyone but the decedent as his mother, a natural child of the husband and wife, and a child of the wife from a former marriage who is an adult and has not spoken to anyone in the family for more thanyears.

3.Two parents, two children from a former marriage, and spouse.

4.One uncle and one half-blood brother.

5.Two adopted children who are the natural children of the surviving spouse.

6.One half-blood sister and former spouse with whom the decedent had reconciled several years earlier but did not remarry.

7.Two divorce parents, one brother, and three nieces who are the children of a sister who predeceased the decedent.

8.A mother who gave up all parental rights when the decedent was 16. The decedent died at age 17 as an emancipated adult. There are no other relatives or legal heirs.

9.One parent, one spouse, and one minor child form previous marriage.

10.A minor adopted child, an ex-spouse (who is the natural parent of the adopted child), and a half blood sister.
