(2 marks will be deducted if part 1 was not completed and submitted) - Time allocated: 2 hours - Deliverable: A Word document with the required information. Format of the report is stipulated in step 7 below - Due: In the Slate drop box by the specified time. No late assignments will be accepted. In this assignment, you will create and configure a network using the Packet Tracer network simulator. Classful Network Address: 201.20.X.0 {X has to be replaced with the following values based on the first letter of your first name A to E: 8, F to J: 16, K to O: 29, P to T: 47, U to Z: 63. For example, if the name is John Doe then X = 16, i.e. 201.20.16.0} Network Topology TABLE 1: The list of subnets and their network addresses and subnet masks Subnet Name Network Address /SNM Accounting Subnet 201.20.X.0 /26 Sales Subnet 201.20.X.64 /28 ISP Subnet 50.1.X.32 /30 TABLE 2: The list of devices, interfaces, and their addresses and subnet masks Device Interface IP Address /SNM RA G0/0 201.20.X.1 /26 G0/1 201.20.X.65 /28 S0/0/0 50.1.X.33 /30 RB S0/0/1 50.1.X.34 /30 PC0 F0 201.20.X.2 /26 PC1 F0 201.20.X.66 /28 STEPS: 1. a. (6 marks) Create the above network topology in Packet Tracer. Use router model 2911 and switch model 2960. Display interface labels (for example G0/0, S0/0/1) if they are not already displayed. Change the router name labels as shown above. Add subnet labels indicating the subnet name, subnet address, and SNM (in CIDR) using the format SUBNET name: address /SNM (for example, ACCOUNTING SUBNET: x.x.x.x /n). Add your name (first and last) in the top left corner. b. Take a screenshot of the topology and insert to your Word document. Make sure the screenshot clearly shows the topology and the labels. 2. (10 marks) Configure router RA: a. (1) Change name of the router to RA as shown in the diagram. b. (6) Configure the router interfaces as given in Table 2 above with X replaced as specified above. i. The IP addresses and SNM and turn it on ii. Description for each interface indicating the name of the subnet to which it is connected (e.g. Connected to Accounting Subnet) c. (2) Configure the console, vty, and the two privileged mode passwords as cisco d. (1) Configure the motd banner This router was configured by e. Copy the routers running configuration file to a new page in the Word document while keeping the source formatting, add an appropriate title, remove all comment lines (lines starting with !), and highlight all configuration changes you made 3. Configure router RB: a. Configure the router interface IP addresses and SNM and as given in Table 2 above, and turn it on. 4. (4 marks) Verify interface status of each router a. For each router, use the command show ip interface brief to display interface summary b. Copy the outputs to a single page in the Word document, add the name of the router above each output and an appropriate title at the top of the page 5. (2 marks) Configure PCs a. Configure IP address, SNM, and default gateway of each PC. b. Display the IP configuration using ipconfig /all in the command prompt c. Copy a screenshot of the IP configurations of each PC showing the relevant details of the active interface on a separate page with an appropriate title 6. (3 marks) Verify connectivity a. Ping from PC0 to PC1 b. Copy a screenshot of the dialog box showing the PC name, ping command, and the Ping results for each PC as shown in the figure below. If the PC name is not showing at the top (e.g. PC0), you will not receive marks for the pings All results should be together on a single page with an appropriate title. 7. (5 marks for report format) Submit the Word with page numbering at the bottom of page with the following information in the order as given below: a. A cover page with name of assignment, date of submission, and your first and last name b. A screenshot of the topology with the required information on a separate page c. The running configuration file of RA with comment lines removed and all the changes underlined or highlighted. Should start on a separate page with the name of the router at the top of the page d. The output from the show ip interface brief command for each router with the router name as a caption. All outputs should be together on a separate page with an appropriate title at the top of the page. e. Output of the ipconfig /all command for the 2 PCs showing relevant details of the active interface. f. Ping command and results g. Only the required information should be in the report. CHECK LIST: make sure the pages are in the correct order as above and numbered, the information is clear, uncluttered, and presented as specified. Marks will be deducted if the report does not strictly conform to the above format.
