ASSIGNMENT: Choose a national minimum wage to be implemented by January 1, 2024. You can choose anything between no National Minimum Wage ($0) and the 2023 modeled average national living wage for a single person with no children (~$25/hour).

A persuasive essay is used to convince your audience of your position on an idea. Scientific evidence, concrete examples, and balanced information are necessary for a strong argument. Personal experiences and anecdotes are typically not considered appropriate for formal persuasive essays.

Target Audience: Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. They will both use your paper as their main source in presenting a bill to congress that will either eliminate, lessen, maintain, or increase the National Minimum Wage to your suggested amount.
