Engaging prospective clients is one of the most important skills that a financial planner can possess. After all, without the ability to engage prospective clients, one will find it difficult to transition prospective clients into actual clients.

This assignment focuses on your ability to write a professional business letter and leave a professional voicemail that will motivate a prospective client to attend the initial discovery meeting that you have scheduled with them.

Assignment Requirement

You are a financial planner who works to Seneca Financial, a full-service financial planning firm that specializes in helping their clients live life confidently. Your office is located at 1750 Finch Avenue East, Toronto Ontario M2J 2X5. Your office phone number is 416-491-5050 and your e-mail address is your current Seneca College e-mail address.

You met Alex and Sam Gatlin on April 12, 2022 at a mutual friends wedding. Both Alex and Sam expressed interest in meeting with you to pursue a financial planning relationship. Two days after the wedding, you called Alex and Sam and scheduled a discovery meeting with them for April 30, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at your office. Their address is 13990 Dufferin Street, King City, Ontario L7B 1B3.

Prepare a one-page business letter that you would send to Alex and Sam to remind them about the scheduled meeting and advise them of the documents they should bring to the meeting (6 marks). Additionally, record the voicemail message that you would leave for the couple to confirm their appointment (4 marks).

Your letter and voicemail will be assessed on their ability to effectively deliver the appropriate information in a professional way that will motivate Alex and Sam to attend the scheduled discovery meeting.

.25 mark will be deducted for each spelling, grammatical or formatting error on the letter and .25 mark will be deducted for each filler word (such as um, ah, etc). on the voicemail.
