Assignment Description

Students are required to produce an individual assignment using data provided. Data is available on MA508 Moodle shell in the folder named (Data set). You need to use Business Statistics theory, concepts, tools and terminology that you have learnt from weeks 1 to 5 to analyse the data and to write up the assignment.

Data set (Global Corporation -Customer attributes &Sales data) is obtained from a business. The business sells categories of products including DVD, CD, and books which include classical, novel, politics, and bestsellers.

1.You have been given a data set which include the data for 400 days of trading. Data set is in 2 sheets. One is about customers and another one is about sales of the business. The data set lists the results of an online survey given to customers.

Assignment instructions:

The main challenge in the business is to increase sales, revenue and profit. For this reason the business has decided to conduct a survey and identify the ways the business can improve. They have collected the data for customers' demographics and sales. Using statistical theory and application answer the main research questions below. Also by using the dataset create answer any other research questions that are meaningful to you.

Assignment structure:

Introduction: objectives of the research and analysis. (10 marks)

Describe the main objective of the researchers who collected this dataset

Describe how you want to analyse the collected data in order to suggest a solution for increasing sales/profit. What are the statistical methods that you will use and why will you be using them.
